HIGHLIGHTS
Sitting beneath three 14,000 foot peaks,
Woods Lake can be incredibly picturesque.
In fall, the aspens surrounding the lake display their
colors.
Hike the
trail to view the show all around the lake and
beyond.
DIRECTIONS
From Ridgway take Colorado 62 west 22 miles to Colorado 145. Turn left, south, and drive through Placerville to Fall Creek road, about 5 miles. Turn right, west, on Fall Creek Road and drive 9 miles to Woods Lake. The road turns from paved to gravel, to dirt, along the way, but even the dirt road is generally in good shape.
