HIGHLIGHTS
Ridgway is one of the primary corners of the
San Juan Skyway Scenic Byway.
It is located at the intersection of US 550 and Colorado 62. From here you can continue south on US 550 to Ouray, Silverton, and Durango, or go west on Colorado 62 to Colorado 145 and Telluride.
Residents have close-up views of both the
San Juan and
Uncompahgre peaks.
Nearby
Ridgway State Park includes a large reservoir for the Uncompahgre River, several popular campgrounds, and a place where fisherman frequently catch the big one.
The local scenery includes many ranches where
horses seem content.
DIRECTIONS
From Montrose take US 550 south 26 miles to Ridgway.
